As the manufacturing division within the Clorox Company institutes a
multi-year business initiative to increase operational efficiency (World
Class Manufacturing) in plants throughout the company, we are seeking a
Human Resources Manager to partner with our leadership in the
implementation of this change. The Human Resources Manager will serve on
the leadership team to provide strategic HR direction and will be
responsible for the day-to-day HR Operations for one, possibly two
non-union plants located in the Atlanta, and the southeast. This
professional will be a key resource in managing the change effort to
World Class Manufacturing by engaging the workforce, designing
strategies and implementing HR systems/processes which support and
reinforce desired behaviors. Additional responsibilities will include:
Conducting organizational assessments; developing action plans;
developing process maps for people systems and supporting
national/regional HR initiatives to drive the Plants' HR Objectives,
Goals, Strategies and Tactics. (Approximately 100 employee base)
Key Responsibilities (in descending order of importance) % of Time
- Lead people initiatives to support the transition to World Class
Manufacturing. Responsible for change management, design and upgrade of
people systems in a traditional facility which is transitioning to a
team-based facility. Determining skill structure and associated wage
structure. Performance Management and Planning (PMP) for Production
Associates. Policy Development and Employee Communications. 50%
- Promote positive employee relations within the plants by proactively
identifying/addressing areas of concern and by developing/coaching
employees and supervisors. This includes interpreting and administering
policies, conducting investigations and managing claims against the
plant. 25%
- Ensure compliance with all state laws and corporate
policies/processes. Will be responsible for complying with regulatory
bodies, (e.g. drafting Affirmative Action Plans), maintaining personnel
records, managing HRIS, updating job descriptions and administering
payroll. Will also play a crucial role in designing and administering
local benefits programs and developing recommendations for wage
increases. 10%
- Actively participate/lead divisional and/or corporate project teams
to identify opportunities. Develop processes and systems to drive goals
/ objectives and execute implementation to ensure success and
sustainability (e.g. SAP design work, Onboarding Process). 5%
- Develop and/or execute training and skill development ( Technical
Skill Training, Production Associate Training) and assisting/guiding
Production Training & Qualification Supervisor. 5%
- Increase bench strength by providing coaching, training and
development for the Plants and division management in order to leverage
HR processes and tools. 5%
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Advanced Degree in Business or HR specialty preferred
- Minimum of 7 years HR experience
- Manufacturing experience required
- Strong employee relations skills, employment /labor law knowledge and
experience with organizational
Design/effectiveness (work systems, work streams, organizational
assessments) required
- HR generalist experience preferred in the following areas: Selection
and recruiting (for hourly and
salaried staff), compensation planning and administration, employee
grievance management (employee
advocacy), Workers' Compensation Case Management, Change Management,
Development and
delivery of training (technical and soft skills), ability to be a
liaison to Government agencies (e.g. EEOC,
OFCCP, OSHA, AAP), Performance Management and Safety
- Strong Leadership skills (ability to serve as a full member of the
Plant leadership team and divisional HR
leadership team)
- Strategic thinking (process orientation)
- Strong project management capability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills;
ability to effectively engage with
all levels of organization, as-well-as internal and external audiences.
- SAP experience preferred
